Welcome To Rancho de San Isidro!

Breeding Registered Purebred Nubian Dairy Goats,
Registered Katahdin Hair Sheep & AKC Anatolian Shepherd Dogs
in beautiful Capitan, New Mexico.
Founded March 2020

 toAbout Us
Founded in March 2020, our five-acre farm in Capitan, New Mexico, is dedicated to humane, sustainable food production. We specialize in raw milk and meat for ourselves and chose New Mexico for its beautiful landscapes and rich cultural heritage. Our farm is named after San Isidro (St. Isidore), the Catholic patron saint of farmers.

Livestock & Breeding
As we celebrate our sixth anniversary in Spring 2026, we continue to expand our expertise in livestock management. Our registered animals include Katahdin Hair Sheep, New Zealand Rabbits, Livestock Guardian Dogs, and Nubian goats. With our registered Nubians we focus on high milk production, long lactations, strong conformation, and excellent maternal traits. Our breeding program features genetics from Six M Galaxy, Black Mesa, Goldthwaite, Witch Hazel, Wingwood Farm, Crow’s Dairy, and C&W Farm.
Dual-purpose Nubians are a particular focus, valued for both milk and meat production.

Performance & Genetics
We value performance programs and genetic testing. We plan to enroll our herd in DHIR and Linear Appraisal or Classification in the near future.  Our herd is closed except for select Six M Galaxy lines, and we would like to utilize AI to enhance genetic diversity in our herd. Biosecurity and health testing ( CAE, Johne’s Disease, G6S, Alpha S1 Casein,) are integral to our operation. As conservation breeders, we are committed to preserving and improving the Registered Purebred Nubian and Anatolian Shepherd Breed.

Livestock Guardian Dogs
Our Anatolian Shepherd breeding program is in its early stages. Livestock Guardian Dogs are essential to our farm, providing protection and companionship for both our animals and us.

Animal Welfare
Animal welfare is central to our philosophy. We ensure all animals are treated with respect and care, both
on our farm and when placed with other breeders. We support the continuation of strong genetics and
responsible management practices.

Our Commitment
Our journey is ongoing, and we adapt our goals as we gain experience. We are committed to passing on quality breeding stock with like-minded breeders, farmers, and homesteaders.
