White Fields Elsa's Rosie & Rancho de San Isidro Dante Doeling
This doeling's dam Rosie has peaked at 8 lbs of milk. She is also one of the finest mothers in our herd, consistently demonstrating excellent maternal instincts and attentive care for her kids. Rosie has been very prolific as well blessing us with mostly triplets and guads.
For this planned breeding, we bred back to milky Goldthwaite genetics (Goldhtwaite Santa Fe) while incorporating an outcross to productive Veteran’s Ranch genetics. The primary objective of this pairing was to preserve the elegance, breed character, and dairy strength associated with the Goldthwaite lines while further enhancing milk production and overall udder quality.
Based on the strength of these genetics, I anticipate this doeling will mature into an exceptional dairy animal. I expect her to peak at around 8 lbs of milk per day, with the potential to exceed that as she matures through successive lactations. I also anticipate long, persistent lactations of 10 months or more. Her Veteran's lines consist of Crow's Dairy Shelley's Tia's. One of the best Veteran's Ranch high milk production does.
In addition to improved production, I expect her to retain the refined breed character, femininity, and elegance characteristic of the Goldthwaite lines, complemented by a well-attached and beautiful udder. Her aunt Rancho de San Isidro Dora milked very well her first freshening and had a 14 month lactation. It was hard drying her up.
